The names of these places make visible the city partnership, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, in the cityscapes of Dresden and Strasbourg. But who moves across the public squares and boulevards of these two cities? Und what moves the people?
The film project BOULEVARD DE DRESDE // STRASSBURGER PLATZ sets out in search of the residents of the partner cities. Under the bright film lights, the project illuminates possibilities and boundaries, open public spaces, perspectives, the rivers, different languages and perhaps dreams too. It is an attempt to create an encounter from 630 km away – a visual and aural encounter.
Barbara Luchner (*1991) studied Theatre Studies and Comparative/European Literature in Mainz. She was an assistant director at the Schauspielhaus Wien and at the Theater Basel, where she directed, among others, THE ILLITERATE by Ágota Kristóf. In October, she will begin her masters in Applied Theatre Studies at the University of Gießen.
